He met Knightshade in the village Grayvale one day and promised he will boost his career and make him a star.Įrebus makes a proposition to Knightshade The Doviello have become even more feral than before, with the ability to duel each other for dominance and spawn various Beasts over the course of the game.Erebus is a malevolent Cloud Demon whose intention is to devour everyone's shadows to make himself more powerful. The demon indeed drew almost the entire village to Knightshade's next concert, stealing all of their shadows, including that of Night Shade's mother, and used them to turn himself into a powerful cloud of magic. Since then, Knightshade has toured to increasing success, stealing ever more shadows for Erebus, hoping to keep his own shadow long enough to figure out a way to stop Erebus. While hunting for shadows, Erebus calls to Megan to come out of hiding, and she steps up, announcing that she has a surprise for him.Ī vast army of Flutter Ponies, brought by Molly and Lofty, fills the skies, circling Erebus and blasting him with their Utter Flutter. Unable to withstand the onslaught, Erebus grows smaller and smaller, and the shadows he contains fly out, seeking their original owners, both he and Zeb were placed in prison. The bassline drops out about halfway in and you’re left with a bright, suspended soundwave that represents the beauty of the storm’s electricity. ![]() The second track, “ Prometheus,” kicks off with a smoldering intro and as the melody takes flight your ears will be met with a low octave pulse, showing off what the god of thunder does best. ![]() This is where the top-end synths begin to shapeshift and once the chaos is unleashed, the vibrant tempo will keep your feet on the move. Then the atmosphere thickens as the voice of a goddess marks the arrival of the dark deity. “ Erebus” begins with a tease of percussion before landing light on the senses with graceful flashes of synth. Clearly, DHB is the perfect home for a backstory of this nature and the music proves it tenfold. The muse for this EP comes from Greek mythology, referencing Erebus, the primordial god of darkness, and Prometheus, the Titan god of thunder and the one responsible for gifting fire to humans. Lucky for us this meant we would be blessed with eclectic works of art like “ Dionysis,” “ Squaredance,” and today’s exciting release, Erebus!
